Poppy Kirby, Administrative & Marketing Support, and Ella McGuinness took part in one of Arts for All’s Creative Classes for adults with learning disabilities, spending the morning painting, making bracelets and getting to know members of the group.
The session gave Poppy and Ella the opportunity to spend time with Robert and Debbie while getting involved in a range of arts and crafts activities.
Highlights of The Day
For Poppy, one of the highlights of the morning was helping Debbie prepare something special for the group’s upcoming annual trip to Devon.
“My favourite part of the day was helping Debbie make bracelets to give out to people when they go on their annual group trip to Devon in a few weeks. Debbie made me a bracelet too, which was extremely sweet!”
Ella also reflected on how the creative activities helped bring everyone together:
“I really enjoyed travelling up to London to take part in volunteering with Arts for All and helping adults with learning disabilities create arts and crafts. I love art because it is something that can be inclusive and accessible to everyone, and it has a brilliant way of bringing people together, which is exactly what we experienced.
We made bracelets, painted and had some lovely conversations with everyone throughout the morning. Thank you so much for having us. We will definitely be back!”
