DOC Cleaning Featured In PFM Magazine On Building A Lower Carbon Future

PFM Feature

We are pleased to be featured in the July/August 2026 edition of Premises & Facilities Management Magazine, sharing our perspective on how stronger collaboration can support progress towards Net Zero.

Our feature, Building Better Partnerships for a Lower Carbon Future, appears on pages 24 and 25 and explores why the next phase of carbon reduction will increasingly depend on organisations working beyond their direct operations.

Building Stronger Supply Chain Partnerships

Across the facilities management sector great progress has been made in reducing emissions within operations. However, many of the next opportunities sit within purchased goods, services and the wider supply chain.

Addressing these emissions requires closer collaboration between clients, suppliers, manufacturers and specialist contractors. Stronger relationships can improve environmental reporting, support more responsible sourcing and create practical opportunities to reduce Scope 3 emissions.

The feature reflects on how our 2025 Sustainability Impact Report and first ISO 14064-1 aligned Carbon Footprint Report have helped us identify the next priorities for our Carbon Reduction Plan as we work towards our SBTi-verified Net Zero target for 2040.

Turning Shared Ambitions Into Action

Through our Beyond Cleaning strategy, we are strengthening supplier engagement and considering sustainability throughout the procurement process and operations.

Our Supplier Showcase, held as part of the annual Beyond Cleaning Awards, gave an opportunity for colleagues and suppliers to demonstrate new solutions and see improvements that can benefit our operations and our clients.

Today, 84% of our product spend is directed towards products with independently recognised sustainability credentials. Alongside responsible procurement, we continue to invest in lower-emission vehicles, specialist equipment, digital reporting and the ongoing development of our people.

As David Brown, Commercial Director, shared:

“Achieving Net Zero is a shared responsibility. By building trusted partnerships with our suppliers, based on transparency, collaboration and shared sustainability ambitions, we can share knowledge, encourage innovation and deliver meaningful carbon reduction that creates lasting value for our clients, communities and the environment.”

Partnership In Practice At The National Theatre

This focus on shared objectives and continuous improvement can also be seen in our work alongside the National Theatre.

DOC Cleaning and the National Theatre have been shortlisted in the Partners in Cleaning category at the 2026 PFM Awards, with the partnership featured among this year’s finalists on page 22 of the magazine. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 4 November at The Brewery in London.

Since mobilisation, both teams have worked closely to create a service aligned with the demands of a complex cultural venue. The partnership has delivered improvements across service quality, workforce development, innovation, sustainability and social value, supported by open communication and joint decision-making.
