The beach clean brought together teams from DOC Cleaning, CBRE and the South Bank Employers’ Group with a shared goal of giving something back to the local area and helping to protect the Thames environment.
Making a Difference Beyond Cleaning
Organised by Recorra, the event saw volunteers work along Gabriel’s Wharf, collecting 13.1kg of litter from the area. It was a practical way to support local wildlife while making the riverside more enjoyable for the people who live, work and spend time on the South Bank.
Representing DOC Cleaning were Arthur Andrews, Luke Smith, Charley Stewart, Josie Blayney, Ella McGuinness and Siggi Roberts-Twinn, who joined colleagues and partners from across the South Bank for the clean-up.
Supporting the Places Where We Work
For DOC Cleaning, our role extends beyond the buildings and spaces we look after every day. Initiatives like this give our teams the chance to get involved with the wider communities surrounding those places.
Gabriel’s Wharf sits at the heart of one of London’s busiest destinations, used every day by residents, businesses and visitors. Spending time caring for the surrounding environment was a meaningful way for the team to step outside their usual roles.
The day also gave everyone the chance to work alongside clients and local organisations in a different setting. Bringing people together around a common cause strengthens relationships and creates a positive impact that everyone involved can see.
Recognising the Team’s Contribution
Following the beach clean, DOC Cleaning received a Recognition of Service Award from Recorra for our involvement at Gabriel’s Wharf. With 13.1kg of litter collected, the beach clean delivered a clear environmental impact and brought colleagues and partners together around a shared local cause.
