DOC attends mytender’s Leading Through the AI Shift event

DOC Cleaning joined industry leaders at mytender’s Leading Through the AI Shift event in London to explore how AI is influencing the future of work winning.

DOC Cleaning’s Commercial Director, David Brown, and Head of Marketing and Sustainability, Sophie O’Shea, attended the event at Carlton House Terrace, joining professionals from across bids, commercial and business development.

The evening provided an opportunity to hear how organisations are already putting AI into practice, alongside the opportunities, challenges and considerations emerging as its use becomes more widespread.

Exploring AI’s growing role in bids and commercial teams

The discussion focused on where AI is already delivering value within bidding and commercial teams, while also considering the importance of governance, market intelligence and human judgement as adoption develops.

Perspectives from across the industry

The panel brought together three perspectives from across the bidding and commercial landscape.

Chris Payne, Growth and Transformation Director at The Keyne Group, discussed the use of AI within complex bids, with a particular focus on maintaining effective governance and the importance of human judgement throughout the work-winning process.

Libby Burgwin, COO at Oxygen Insights from Oxygen Finance, shared insights into evolving buyer requirements, wider trends across the tender market and the growing role of market intelligence in supporting commercial decision-making.

Matt Allen, Bid Writer at Churchill Group, spoke about his experience introducing AI across bid teams of different sizes, including areas where the technology is already having an impact and some of the practical challenges associated with wider adoption.

Applying the insights at DOC

The discussion provided useful perspectives as DOC continues to explore how AI can be applied effectively across the business, particularly where it can support teams, improve processes and add genuine value while retaining the expertise and judgement of the people behind the work.

Reflecting on the event, Sophie O’Shea said:

“mytender’s event brought together a great group of people working through the realities of AI in bidding and commercial teams. The discussion was open, insightful and grounded in real experience, and it was a pleasure for DOC to be involved.”

Thank you to Jamie Horsnell and Samuel Aaron from mytender for hosting the event, and to Chris, Libby and Matt for sharing their experiences and perspectives.
