What Is Thank Your Cleaner Day?
Thank Your Cleaner Day is an annual day dedicated to recognising professional cleaners. It is marked by cleaning companies around the world every October.
Many cleaners work early mornings, evenings and weekends, so the people who benefit from their work rarely see them doing it. The day is a chance to say thank you in person.
How We Marked The Day At Our Sites
Each site marked the day in its own way, with treats, food and drinks, and group photos to capture the moment.
Some sites also held long service awards for team members who have been with us for many years. At the National Gallery, these included an award for 30 years of service.
Many of our cleaners work while buildings are quiet, so they rarely hear thanks in person. Days like this make sure they do.
Why Recognising Cleaners Matters
Keeping a building clean takes skilled, careful and often physically demanding work. Our teams look after workplaces where hundreds of people spend their day, and their attention to detail shapes how a building feels for everyone who walks in.
Recognition also makes a practical difference. Teams who feel valued tend to stay longer, and stable teams know their sites inside out. That continuity means fewer missed tasks, faster responses when something comes up and a better service for our clients.
That is why we recognise our teams throughout the year. Our long service awards show how many of our people choose to stay with us for decades.
