Members of the DOC Cleaning team attended the edie Awards 2026 on Thursday 12th March at the InterContinental London The O2, celebrating innovation and leadership in sustainability across UK business.
We were delighted to be shortlisted in the Partnership and Collaboration of the Year category alongside supply chain partner SMI, recognising the organisations’ joint work to develop the Beyond Cleaning sustainable workwear range.
A night to remember
Representing DOC Cleaning at the event were Jeff Silver, Head of ESG, Vince Turner, Compliance Director, Sophie O’Shea, Head of Marketing, Angela Alvarez, Site Manager, and Jean Dominguez, Site Manager.
The nomination recognised a collaborative project focused on transitioning DOC Cleaning’s workwear to environmentally responsible alternatives, reducing environmental impact while maintaining comfort, safety and operational performance for teams across the business.
Working closely with SMI, the project also included the development of a bespoke sustainable product catalogue and initiatives to support responsible purchasing across DOC’s supply chain.
The edie Awards are among the UK’s most respected sustainability awards, bringing together organisations that are driving meaningful environmental and social change across industries.
While DOC Cleaning and SMI did not take home the award on the night, the team were proud to be recognised as finalists among leading organisations driving sustainability innovation across the UK. Being shortlisted highlights the strength of the partnership and the progress made through the Beyond Cleaning sustainable workwear initiative.
Continued environmental progress
The collaboration continues to deliver meaningful environmental benefits, including 63.41kg of textiles recycled and 181.7kgCO₂e prevented from entering landfill through improved workwear management and recycling initiatives.
DOC Cleaning and SMI remain committed to working together to reduce environmental impact and develop sustainable solutions that support both operational performance and wider ESG goals.
