2024 has been a year of significant growth and we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible. As we reflect on these milestones, we hope to inspire both our clients and others in the professional cleaning industry as we look ahead to an exciting 2025.
Staff Development
This year, we welcomed several new members of staff while also bidding farewell to some of our oldest team members.
Over the summer, we expanded our Commercial Team, bringing on Sophie Rioch as Head of Marketing and Crystal Barnard as Marketing and Content Creator. Since joining, Sophie and Crystal have played an instrumental role in establishing a greater online presence through regular social media and website activity, as well as getting involved in bid submissions and liaising with local charity partners to organise various events.
We proudly facilitated eight managerial promotions within the team at our Head Office. Special congratulations to our Finance Manager, Freddie Hancock, HR Advisor, Josie Blayney, Business Development Manager, Arthur Andrews, Operations Manager, Tom Harper, Operations Manager, Jose Megino, Operations Supervisor, Rafaela Souza, Operations Supervisor, Lina Lopera, and Cleaning Manager, Jean Dominguez, for their well-deserved progression.
In November, we said a heartfelt goodbye to Kevan Stewart, who retired after 34 years with us. Kevan was regarded a cherished member of the DOC family and we are deeply grateful for all he has contributed throughout his time with us.
Client Expansion
One of our key focuses this year has been strengthening our partnerships. Having secured more than 100 new contracts, we’ve expanded our reach to cover new regions within the UK and look forward to growing our client portfolio further in 2025. Our latest wins are testament to our incredible team’s dedication and ongoing efforts.
In addition to new clients, we were successful in the reawarding of the contract at the National Gallery – which remains our longest-standing partnership to date. We are proud to have worked alongside the National Gallery for more than five decades, during which time we’ve developed our services to include innovative practices that meet their specific needs and ensure the site remains pristine at all times.

Community Projects
We’ve been deepening our connections with existing partners, working together to promote our shared values through meaningful charity and community initiatives.
From toy drives to local clean-up efforts, 2024 has been an inspiring year for giving back. Our teams have embraced every opportunity to make a positive impact beyond our core services – truly going ‘Beyond Cleaning‘. We’re proud to highlight some of the incredible projects we’ve collaborated on this year and extend our sincere thanks to all our partners for their unwavering support.
- Grove Cottage: We’ve enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Grove Cottage since relocating to our new head office in 2016. In 2024, we supported their efforts by raising and donating funds through initiatives like the London Marathon and Grove Cottage’s ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign.
- Let’s Feed Brum: Once per quarter, we proudly supported Let’s Feed Brum in their mission to assist those in need within the Birmingham community. Our involvement has included participating in their food bank initiatives, with both our clients and staff joining forces to lend a helping hand.
- The Soup Kitchen: We participated in several of The Soup Kitchen’s food drives, contributing to their vital mission of supporting the local London community. Through these efforts, we provided resources and hands-on assistance to those in need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated organisation and look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.
- The Toy Project: 2024 marked our second year of supporting The Toy Project, an initiative that provides pre-loved toys to children in need. By collaborating with our clients, we successfully donated hundreds of toys, bringing joy to countless children and making a meaningful impact in their lives.
- Birmingham Toy Appeal: Taking inspiration from The Toy Project, we were eager to spread our support across other regions. In partnership with Hamberley Care Homes and with the help of our dedicated clients, we organised toy collections across Birmingham to donate to a local pantry.
Throughout the year, we’ve been involved in numerous other initiatives, including partnering with Simply Washrooms in support of International Men’s Day, taking part in the Vertical Rush challenge at Tower 42, and collaborating with Knight Frank and the Marylebone Project to provide a deep clean for a local community centre.

Beyond Cleaning Awards
In 2022, we launched our Beyond Cleaning sustainability strategy, aimed at driving meaningful change and impact both within our business and across the professional cleaning industry. To celebrate all that we’ve accomplished since the launch, we returned to the same venue to host our inaugural awards. These awards recognised the four key pillars of our strategy: Creating A Positive Legacy, Empowering Our People, Ensuring Safer Spaces, and Inspiring Bold Action.
The awards honoured our collective ESG efforts, from adopting innovative cleaning solutions to supporting our local community, as well as the individual personal and professional achivements of our team. In addition to our Beyond Cleaning Awards, we were delighted to have received the title of ‘Best Customer Experience Programme‘ by Clientshare, and were shortlisted as a finalist at the Cleaning Excellence Awards and Planet Mark Awards. We also look forward to attending the European Cleaning & Hygiene Awards in 2025.
