The Cleaning Excellence Awards, established in 2021, has gained traction as a leading event in the British cleaning industry. From technological innovations to sustainability and outstanding customer service, the awards aim to highlight excellence across a range of categories, reflecting the high standards upheld throughout the professional cleaning and hygiene industry.
Among those who attended were our Director of Operations, Lee Andrews, Financial Director, Jamie Bull, HR Director, Jane Malone, Commercial Director, David Brown, Head of ESG, Jeff Silver, Head of Marketing, Sophie Rioch, Finance Manager, Freddie Hancock, Business Development Manager, Arthur Andrews, and Marketing & Content Creator, Crystal Barnard. Together, our team travelled from our Head Office in Bishop’s Stortford to Coventry to represent DOC Cleaning and celebrate the latest achievements within our sector.
Prior to the awards evening, our team attended the annual conference and had a great time networking with other industry professionals. We particularly enjoyed the seminar by Lorraine Larman, Master of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners (WCEC), who discussed the importance of training and support in building stronger career pathways for the next generation. Lorraine’s speech resonated with our values of professional development and empowerment, and was particularly relevant given that two members of our senior leadership team, Lee Andrews and Jamie Bull, were recently admitted as Freemen to the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.
The awards ceremony was hosted by comedian and author Daliso Chaponda, known for his performance on Britain’s Got Talent. Daliso began the night with a comedy performance which led into the awards ceremony. Representatives from each of the event sponsors, including Kärcher, BICSc, i-team Global and Jangro, joined Daliso in announcing the award categories and their winners.
The 2024 judging panel consisted of David Garcia, Vice President and Treasurer of the Cleaning and Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) and Deputy Chair of the British Cleaning Council (BCC), Neil Spencer-Cook, Group Managing Director at the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), Lorraine Larman, Master of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners (WCEC), Jeff Cross, Media Director at ISSA, and Chris Shaw, Editor at Cleaning Matters. We were thrilled to have been shortlisted by the judging panel across four different categories in this year’s awards and would like to congratulate the winners on their achievements.
We’d also like to extend a massive thank you to the team at Western Business Media for organising such a brilliant event. We look forward to returning in 2025.
