We are one of the first independant companies in the UK to have their greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets validated by the SBTi accross all scope sources,. This supports our ambition to be a market leader for the cleaning industry and provide evidence based data to support our commitments.
Our data from baseline year 2021/22 has been verified by our ESG Certification partner, Planet Mark, and alligned to the the Science Based Targets initiative, as well as fulfilling one of our main objectives from our ESG strategy, Beyond Cleaning.
By 2030, DOC Cleaning will eliminate all carbon emissions from its own activities and from energy it purchases and uses (Scope 1 and 2). We also pledge that by 2030 it will at least halved carbon emissions from Scope 3 sources, including supply chain purchases, employee travel and waste management.
By 2040, DOC Cleaning will have eliminated Scope 3 emissions completely – a full 10 years before the deadline set by the UK government!
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ targets in line with the latest climate science.
DOC Cleaning CEO Lee Andrews said: “We are committed to reduce our carbon footprint through improved energy efficiency, renewable energy supply, reducing our network waste and new environmental criteria when we select suppliers. This will enable our clients to reduce their environmental footprint through use of our services”.
