DOC Cleaning Joins CSSA Sustainability Event’s Panel

CSSA Sustainability Event

We were pleased to attend CSSA’s Turning Sustainability Into Commercial Advantage event, held at Salesforce Tower in London on Thursday 4th June 2026.

The CSSA sustainability event brought together leaders from across the cleaning, facilities management and wider business community.

As part of the event, Jamie Bull, our Joint Managing Director, joined the Climate Strategy panel to discuss how businesses can move beyond ambition and embed sustainability into everyday decision making.

Turning sustainability into commercial value

Sustainability is no longer a parallel conversation for the cleaning and facilities management sector. It is increasingly shaping client expectations, procurement decisions, operational resilience and long-term business partnerships.

The CSSA event focused on how organisations can make sustainability commercially viable while still delivering measurable environmental and social impact. Discussions explored the importance of using data to better understand how operations function, identify inefficiencies and support more informed decision making.

Speaking after the event, Jamie shared:

It was great to join industry leaders to discuss how sustainability is becoming much more than a reporting exercise. A clear takeaway from the discussion was that organisations create the greatest value when they use data to better understand how their operations function, identify inefficiencies and make more informed decisions. Sustainability delivers the biggest impact when it is embedded into day-to-day operations, driving better outcomes for everyone involved.

Embedding sustainability into everyday operations

The panel discussion considered how businesses can balance environmental responsibility with practical, measurable outcomes. For cleaning and facilities management providers, this means looking beyond headline commitments and focusing on the operational decisions that influence performance every day.

The conversation also highlighted the role of collaboration across the sector. Meaningful progress depends on open discussion between contractors, clients, suppliers and industry bodies. As well as a willingness to challenge traditional thinking around how cleaning services are delivered and measured.

Supporting industry discussion

Alongside Jamie, DOC Cleaning was represented at the event by Joint Managing Director Lee Andrews, Head of ESG Jeff Silver, Head of Marketing Sophie O’Shea and Digital Marketing Executive Nik Prinjha.

Events such as this play an important role in bringing different perspectives together. As sustainability continues to influence commercial decisions, service models and client partnerships, shared learning across the industry will remain essential.

Thank you to the CSSA

We would like to thank the Cleaning and Support Services Association for organising another valuable industry event and for bringing together so many leaders to continue the conversation around climate strategy, operational improvement and commercial sustainability.
