DOC Cleaning Continues To Support Hamberley Care Homes’ Christmas Toy Appeal

We are proud to continue our partnership with Hamberley Care Homes to support St Bart's 'Your Local Pantry' - a Birmingham-based organisation on a mission to support the local communtiy.

As part of our Beyond Cleaning strategy, we believe in creating a positive legacy and investing in our communities where it is most needed.

In November 2024, we reached out to Hamberley Care Homes to find how out we could help. This conversation led to us setting up a successful Toy Appeal for their charity partner, St. Barts, a local community hub where families gather to seek help, advice, food and friendship.

Our partnerships with both Hamberley and St. Barts stem from our ambition to provide nurturing environments to empower the people within our communities. We are proud to partner with these organisations once again for this year’s appeal and hope to support even more families than before.

Our 2025 Birmingham Toy Appeal

After last year’s success, we have decided to continue our partnerships with Hamberley Care Homes and St. Barts. By collaborating with Hamberley Care Homes, we are able to continuously make a real difference for less fortunate families who could use a little extra help this Christmas.

From 10th November 2025, we will be accepting new, unwrapped gifts from our local Birmingham sites, as well as Hamberley’s Cofton Park Manor care home. Once collected, these gifts will be delivered to St.Barts’ Allens Cross Community Centre Hub where families will be able to pick their gifts ready for their children to unwrap on Christmas day.

About Your Local Pantry

Your Local Pantry serves more than 90,000 people across the UK with a wide range of services. The organisation’s core mission is to provide local families with access to food. In line with their values of Dignity, Choice and Hope, the pantry supports families to be able to take a step forward in confidence.

Your Local Pantry opened its first store back in May 2013, Penny Lane Pantry, then began franchising nationally in 2017 after receiving incredible feedback from the local communities they were able to help. In March 2022, St Bart’s opened to ensure food security for the local community in the Birmingham Northfield area.

Each £6 membership ensures those in need have access to food such as fresh fruit, vegetables and store cupboard favourites that will often total £20 in an ordinary shopping experience. The organisation has collectively saved their members £5.76m in the past year, and more than £10.5m in the past two years.

How to Get Involved

To get involved, you can help by purchasing a new, unwrapped children’s gift and delivering it to one of our Birmingham sites where you will find our collection boxes.

Gifts will be accepted from Monday 10th November 2025 until Friday 12th December 2025. Our team will then personally deliver the gifts to St Bart’s Allens Cross Community Centre to support the families in need.

If you have any questions regarding how to find a collection box or how else you might be able to support, please do not hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team. Get in touch via our website today.
