Martinho Cristovão Nominated For Individual Waste Warrior Of The Year

Martinho Cristovão, a valued member of our on-site team at The Walbrook, has been nominated for the ‘Individual Waste Warrior of the Year’ award by our waste management partner, Recorra.

Delivering meaningful sustainability outcomes relies on consistent action, strong partnerships and people who lead by example on site. This commitment sits at the heart of our Beyond Cleaning strategy, which focuses on creating measurable environmental and social value alongside core service delivery.

As part of this approach, Martinho Cristovão, a key member of the on-site team at The Walbrook, has been nominated for the ‘Individual Waste Warrior of the Year’ award by waste management partner Recorra.

The nomination recognises Martinho’s ongoing contribution to recycling performance, waste reduction and sustainable behaviours within the building.

Years of thoughtful action

Martinho has been an integral part of the team at The Walbrook since 2018, bringing consistency, care and professionalism to his role.

His dedication has played an important role in supporting the building’s achievement of an 86% recycling rate, a strong result within a high-footfall commercial environment. Correct waste segregation, attention to detail and a proactive approach to sustainability all contribute to this performance.

These outcomes align closely with the Beyond Cleaning strategy, where operational excellence is combined with positive environmental impact.

Training, mentorship and long-term impact

Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, Martinho takes a lead role in mentoring and training new team members on site.

By embedding best practice from the outset, he helps ensure sustainability standards are maintained consistently over time. This approach supports long-term performance and reinforces The Walbrook’s position as a leader in responsible waste management.

Our partnership with Recorra

The nomination has been made through DOC Cleaning’s ongoing partnership with Recorra, working collaboratively to drive improved recycling outcomes and recognise individuals making a real difference on site.

Commenting on Martinho’s contribution, his Line Manager, Fernando Vanegas, said:

“Martinho is consistently professional in his work and continues to strive.”

Martinho’s nomination is currently under review by the Recorra team, with plans in place to recognise his achievement on site in collaboration with building management.

Celebrating sustainability in practice

Recognising individuals who deliver real, measurable impact supports a culture of accountability, pride and continuous improvement.

Congratulations to Martinho Cristovão on a well-deserved nomination and for the positive contribution he continues to make every day.
