We’ve officially rebranded our Human Resources team to the People and Culture Team — a change that reflects our continued focus on employee experience, workplace wellbeing, and people-first leadership in the cleaning industry.
This shift supports our wider strategy to create a purpose-led culture where people feel connected, valued and empowered to succeed. It also strengthens our position as a forward-thinking employer within the facilities management and commercial cleaning sector.
Jane Malone, our People & Culture Director, shared:
The term ‘Human Resources’ no longer reflects the people-focused, strategic work our team does. We are not here to manage resources — we’re here to empower individuals and build a culture where everyone can thrive.
Why the Change?
The term “Human Resources” no longer captures the full scope of our work or our people-first philosophy. Our new name represents an expanded remit — one that focuses on building a strong organisational culture, supporting wellbeing, and enabling every individual to succeed.
The change also strengthens our alignment with the Beyond Cleaning strategy, in particular our ongoing focus on empowering our people.
What’s Changing?
You’ll see updated job titles and team names reflected in email signatures, internal documents and communications. Behind the scenes, the team’s structure is evolving to reflect this new focus — but our support remains the same.
The People and Culture Team will continue to provide expert guidance and operational support, while playing a more visible role in shaping the culture of the business.
Developing a Strong Workplace Culture
We are committed to shaping a workplace culture that reflects who we are and what we stand for. This means embedding our values into daily interactions, behaviours and decision-making — not just through formal initiatives, but in the way we collaborate, support one another and celebrate success. A strong culture helps unite teams, build trust and foster a sense of shared purpose across all levels of the organisation.
Supporting Learning and Development
We believe that learning is a continuous journey, not a one-off event. By creating opportunities for individuals and teams to grow — whether through formal training, on-the-job development, or coaching and mentoring — we aim to build capability and confidence across the business. Our focus is on equipping our people with the skills they need today, while also preparing them for tomorrow.
Championing Wellbeing and Inclusion
We want every member of our team to feel respected, valued and able to be themselves at work. That includes supporting mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, as well as creating a genuinely inclusive environment. We recognise that people thrive when they feel safe, heard and connected, and we are committed to ensuring that inclusion and wellbeing remain central to our people strategy.
Fostering Leadership and Progression
Great leadership exists at every level of our organisation. Through structured development, meaningful feedback and clear progression pathways, we are helping our people grow into confident, capable leaders — whether they manage teams or lead by example in their everyday roles. We want to enable individuals to take ownership of their development and support their DOC journey as they advance.
Aligning Policies with People Priorities
Our policies and frameworks are designed to reflect the real needs of our people, supporting fairness, clarity and consistency while staying grounded in our values. We are reviewing and evolving our approach to ensure that every policy is shaped by the lived experience of our teams and supports a culture of trust, accountability and mutual respect.

Looking Ahead
Over the coming months, we will be introducing a series of initiatives designed to enhance the employee experience. These will include an improved onboarding journey, regular learning opportunities and tailored support programmes focused on wellbeing, inclusion and professional development.
We believe that investing in our people is fundamental to delivering excellence for our clients and to building a workplace we are all proud to be part of. This rebrand signals a clear and purposeful step forward, as we continue to grow with our people and values at the centre of everything we do.
