International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the women who contribute to every part of our business.
This year we are shining a light on three women who play an important role in the continued growth of our window cleaning division.
Meet Amber
Amber is the Operations Support Manager for our Vertical Division. Her role centres on coordination, collaboration and keeping operations running smoothly.

Amber supports the team by liaising with clients and contractors, helping with operational planning, onboarding new team members and preparing for important milestones such as the team’s upcoming IRATA audit.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, she also contributes to the development of new services and supports the wider DOC team as the division continues to grow.
Building a growing division
Amber joined the window cleaning team after previously working within facilities management on the Covent Garden estate.
There she supported soft services operations for a busy and complex environment that welcomed more than 44 million visitors each year. During this time she worked closely with Gareth Thomas, Divisional Managing Director, and Louis Wright, Regional Director, who delivered the window cleaning services to the estate.
That working relationship eventually led to Amber joining the team in an operations support role. Since then, she has played an important role in supporting the growth of the vertical cleaning division.
It is a great motivator to see how the team has grown from virtually nothing in such a short space of time. I am so excited to see how far we can grow the division and be part of the overall success story of DOC Cleaning.
Teamwork behind the scenes
Amber believes teamwork and adaptability are essential qualities within her role.
Supporting both colleagues and clients means balancing different needs while helping the team maintain the high standards clients expect. She is also passionate about recognising the contribution of support roles within organisations.
Having worked in admin based roles for my whole career, I am always championing the support that admin staff provide to their team. We are often the unsung heroes behind what goes into making businesses successful.
Encouraging more women into facilities services
International Women’s Day is particularly meaningful to Amber as a mother of a young daughter, with another on the way. For her, the day is a moment to reflect on the women who have influenced and supported her while also recognising the importance of continuing to advocate for equality.
She also hopes more women will consider careers in facilities services and window cleaning.
The world of facilities covers so many roles that there is something for everyone. It is great to see women thriving in this industry and I really hope to see that continue. The sky really is the limit for us.
Meet Andreea
Andreea Bejan is an Administration Assistant within the Vertical team and plays an important role in keeping daily operations organised.
Her work focuses on scheduling cleans for operatives, coordinating with clients and suppliers, raising permits and supporting the operational team with day to day planning. Although the role sits behind the scenes, it is an essential part of ensuring projects run smoothly.
Supporting a fast-paced team
Andreea joined the division with previous experience working alongside cleaning teams in an administrative role. That exposure gave her an understanding of the sector and sparked an interest in expanding her knowledge of the industry.
Since joining the team she has been part of a division that continues to grow and evolve.
Despite our division still being quite new, the team has grown very quickly and each day is different. It has been a great learning experience.
Organisation and communication
Working in a fast paced environment means organisation and communication are essential.
For Andreea, learning from colleagues with strong industry knowledge has been an important part of developing her confidence in the role.
Being part of a supportive team where everyone shares their knowledge has helped me learn more about the industry and develop my skills.
Recognising the women around us
International Women’s Day is a chance to recognise the women who support and influence our lives.
For Andreea it is also an opportunity to encourage more women to explore careers across the facilities sector.
It is a huge industry which offers many opportunities for growth, even if you do not have a background in cleaning. There is great training available to help you learn and develop.
Meet Eleanor
Eleanor Chandler recently joined the Vertical team as an Administration Assistant and is already supporting the team with operational coordination.
Her responsibilities include scheduling works for operatives, preparing permits and helping manage day to day planning across sites. Although new to the sector, Eleanor brings experience from fast paced environments through her previous role in e commerce.
Starting a new chapter
Joining a growing team brings plenty of opportunities to learn. For Eleanor, the first week has focused on meeting colleagues and understanding how the division operates.
Completing my first week has definitely been a proud moment.
She has also been struck by how welcoming and supportive the team has been since joining.
Looking ahead
As the vertical cleaning division continues to grow, Eleanor is excited to be part of the journey and contribute to the team’s future success.
International Women’s Day is also a moment for reflection.
For Eleanor, it is a reminder of how far progress has come while recognising that more work can still be done to support equality. She encourages women considering a career in facilities services to keep an open mind.
There are many different opportunities within the industry that may suit your skillset.
Supporting the people behind our services
From operations and coordination to administration and planning, colleagues across the business play an important role in supporting the continued growth of our window cleaning division.
This International Women’s Day we are proud to recognise Amber, Andreea and Eleanor and the contribution they make to the team. We’d also like to extend our thanks to all the women across our organisation for their hard work every day.
